The caller said that the inspectors came around Christmas time, when the family had something special and fancy for the holiday, and the inspectors saw it, and interrogated her mother about it. That episode prompted her mother to swear off taking another government check ever again.<br /><br />Which would seem to inspire an idea - such vexatious conditions like unannounced searches of the homes of welfare recipients need to be a condition of receiving a government check, and act as a major disincentive to taking it unless one is truly desperate. With the loss of freedom that comes with welfare, people will naturally not want to be on it any longer than absolutely necessary.Robertnoreply@blogger.com
